Application of EPDM corner cloaks
1) The timber decking or masonry wall is coated in the usual way with self adhesive Primer and allowed to dry (c 1 hour).
2) The Self-Adhesive EPDM rubber is also applied in the usual way by removing the backing film and firming into place all over the roof and into the corners to be covered by the neoprene corner cloaks - in these areas overlapping of the rubber is not necessary as the cloaks will be giving the seal. However the heat gun sealing is required at every edge of the Self-Adhesive EPDM rubber in the usual way including the corner areas, except the areas to be covered by the cloaks.
3) The corner cloak is then positioned to determine its boundaries, and temporary chalk lines drawn 20mm outside the edges of the cloak.
4) Impact Adhesive is then applied to the EPDM rubber up to these lines and to the mating surfaces of the cloak and allowed to become dry to the touch.
5) Then the two surfaces are carefully matched and the surfaces are rolled firmly with a solid, preferably metal, roller.
6) Finally all exposed edges of the corner cloaks are sealed with EPDM sealant mastic.
